About Us

Kersten's Korner Nursery School is open from 7:00am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday.  Children may attend any combination of days and hours per week that are available.  Each child must attend school a minimum of 2, three hour sessions per week.  The half day session is from 8:30-11:30am.  The full day session is from 8:30am-4:00pm.  Extended hours are available to accommodate parent's schedules, from as early as 7:00am to as late as 5:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Our school follows the Ohio Academic Content Standards for Preschool.  These set guidelines list what materials and subject matters must be covered during the preschool year.  This material is used as a learning step, and the Kindergarten teacher will take this preschool knowledge and build from it.

We are also a one star rated Step Up To Quality program. Step Up To Quality is Ohio's voluntary quality rating system for child care programs recognizing early care and education programs that exceed quality for Ohio's children.

We have two classrooms that separate the 3-4 year old from the 4-5 year old preschoolers.  This allows you to send your child multiple years if you chose, without them repeating the same program.

For families that need tuition assistance, we work with the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have about applying for assistance.

What We Believe

We feel that our nursery school is an extension of your home.  A place that is purpose built with the needs of small children in mind and a place which can offer anxious parents support, busy parents time, and tired parents rest.  You will find child-sized furniture, low sinks and windows so the children can see outside, child height coat hooks and individual boxes for the children's possessions.  All materials are carefully selected as to their suitability for the preschooler.
